Hi Dave, Yes the news about the drop in birth rate in Australia to an 88 year low was on my list of articles from the last week to cause confusion. Admittedly young people not having children is caused by many factors, especially the unaffordability of housing in Australia major cities. However increasing excess mortality and dropping birth rate at the same time are factors that should be investigated further.

Hi Andrew. Yes, I agree, the cost of living for young people in Australia is horrendous; and one cannot compare our decreasing population with that of say a poor country like India, with its increasing population. Certainly, the situation in the western world in general has dramatically changed over the course of the past few years, with explanations from governments now becoming cringeworthy.

I just wish we could get more doctors on side. One of the visiting medical specialists in Canberra two weeks ago (where several of our good politicians gathered to speak outside Parliament House) told me that the brainwashing of physicians is still a significant problem.
